7 Ways To Rejuvenate Your Session (Without a T-Break)

7 Ways To Rejuvenate Your Session (Without a T-Break)

Table of Contents

It happens from time to time. You take a moment to hit pause with your favorite edible, flower, or other cannabis product, but when the effects settle in, it's not what it used to be.

When this occurs, most cannasseurs suggest you take a tolerance break between a few days to a few months. But can you refresh your experience without having to do so?

If your recent sessions feel like they could be better, or if it's inspiration that you seek, you've come to the right place. In this blog post, we'll cover seven ways that you can restore that spark in your next cannabis session.

7. Flip Your Time & Place

THC and other cannabinoids can help heighten your senses. They can unveil new qualities in our environment, the music we listen to, the films we watch, and our social interactions that we don't quite notice during the day-to-day. But the newness, wonder, and curiosity can wear off when you constantly consume these plant molecules in the same environment and context.

One easy fix to this problem is simply flipping your settings. For instance, if you consume cannabis at night, try it during the day. If you usually have your sessions indoors, have one outside or even go somewhere new.

By changing your environment, the effects of cannabis may become more prominent because you are surrounding yourself with new and different stimuli to explore through the lens of THC.

6. Start With a Drink

When you overdo anything, you won't get ideal results. The same applies to mixing cannabis with alcohol. However, with prudence, a beer, a glass of wine, or a cocktail before you partake can enhance the sense of tranquility you get from THC. But how?

When you smoke or eat THC, it must enter the bloodstream and cross into the brain, where it can bind to CB1 receptors. Ethanol is a vasodilator, which means that it expands and relaxes blood vessels, thus allowing more blood to flow.

In a 2015 study, participants were either given a placebo or a small amount of alcohol and then instructed to vaporize a high or low amount of THC. Participants who consumed alcohol with either a high or low amount of THC had significantly higher peak THC levels than their counterparts who took the placebo.

If you are considering mixing THC with alcohol, it's best to take the route of moderation to avoid any unwanted effects. But a nice, cool beverage may be what you need to regain the feeling you're looking for.

5. Synergize with Snacks

It's no secret that cannabis can spur the appetite and enhance culinary experiences. That's why it's not uncommon for enthusiasts to enjoy snacks or pair a meal with a session. However, did you know that certain foods have synergy with THC?

Mangos, for instance, are rich in mycrene, an aromatic plant compound that may help transfer cannabinoids across the blood-brain barrier. Omega-3s found in peanut butter, salmon, soybeans, and other foods can help boost the effects of THC since your body will convert these fats into endocannabinoids (chemical messengers in the same system that processes THC).

4. Blend Your THCs

You are probably well aware that there isn't just one type of THC (such as Delta-8), and THC isn't the only psychoactive compound found in cannabis- a popular alternative is the cannabinoid HHC. Both of these options are great to explore if your go-to is Delta-9. But have you ever considered consuming different types of THC at once?

There are nearly an unlimited amount of ways that you can mix your THCs. For example, you may take a few pulls of Delta-8 flower and then follow it up with a Delta-9 gummy. Or perhaps you might drip Delta-8 tincture on top of an HHC gummy.

But, if it's a convenience that you seek, we recommend trying our Sour Belts in either 50mg or 300mg options. Each blend contains five THC variants; however, besides Delta-8 and Delta-9, they have a spectrum of uncommon and novel cannabinoids such as Delta-10, THCV, and THCP, which may help unlock an entirely new cannabis experience.

3. Switch Your Mediums

The way we consume cannabis has a significant impact on the effects the plant can offer. For instance, vaping or smoking will yield a faster onset of effects. However, when you have an edible, you will have a much slower onset of effects to a greater degree with a longer duration because your body will convert the THC into 11-Hydroxy-THC, a new cannabinoid with unique properties.

When you only stick to one medium for every session, you get used to the same onset and degree of effects, hence why you might not be getting the same impact from THC that you used to feel. Your sessions become all too predictable.

So, if you usually smoke flower, try an edible for your session, or vice-versa. But if you want a product that can offer a bit of both worlds, we recommend Delta-8 tinctures because they can work as an edible, or you experience effects similar to smoking/vaping if you drip it under your tongue.

2. Microdose Your THC

Microdosing is a great option if you're looking for a different type of session because it can unveil a new palette of experiences you may not expect from cannabis. For example, for some enthusiasts, 10mg of THC may draw them into a deep state of comfort, while 2mg may offer a sense of focus or a tinge of fascination while offering a greater sense of being grounded.

One of the strengths of microdosing is that you can pair it with activities you may not normally associate with cannabis. For instance, after having a 25mg Delta-9 gummy, going on a run may not be the first thing on your mind. On the other hand, a refreshing morning jog with just 2mg of THC can help you feel more relaxed and enhance your awareness and appreciation of the scenery.

There are several ways you can approach microdosing. You may only want to take a small pull from a vape or cut off a small piece of a gummy that's no more than 3mg. The ultimate goal, however, is to take just enough for you to notice a difference but not feel impaired.

For an easier experience, we recommend ORCA Energy or ORCA Recovery since we designed these products for mircodosing (2mg fast-acting THC). ORCA Energy is better for motivation and activity with its blend of THC, caffeine, and B vitamins, while Recovery is formulated with THC, L-Theanine, and other additives to optimize recovery periods.

Outside of exercise, ORCA Energy can be a great coffee alternative to help you feel more alert and give your day a brighter start. In contrast, ORCA Recovery can be a great nighttime option or a friendly "pick-me-up" for social occasions.

1. Add Some Amanita

amanita muscaria

Amanita muscaria is a psychoactive mushroom revered by shamans for thousands of years as a spiritual catalyst. Its active compounds, muscimol and ibotenic acid, can help boost serotonin levels (the "happy chemical") in the brain. Consuming Amanita muscaria can offer a gentle tinge of brightness to your day; however, when taken alongside cannabis, it can release a wave of creativity and spectacle.

Those curious about trying Amanita should check out our Magic Amanita Muscaria Gummies, which contain:
  • 500mg Amanita muscaria extract
  • 100mg lion's mane
  • 100mg holy basil
  • 25mg broad-spectrum CBD
In the context of a session, seasoned cannabis enthusiasts may notice the 25mg of CBD, which can synergize with THC and bring out a pleasant interaction known as the entourage effect (which is why we developed our line of Select Spectrum blends). For many, CBD can help smooth out the sharper edges of THC, providing a radiant yet gentle experience. And then, added to this, you get a blend of Amanita and other psychotropics.

Bonus: Stick To Time Window

The first pull from a waterpipe is always the best. You flick a lighter, a piney scent fills the air, and suddenly, the whole world and your daily worries come to a pause. But the effects become less pronounced as you go for a second, third, fourth, and so on.

This same principle applies to the consumption of cannabis throughout the day. You may greet the day with some tincture in your coffee or take a bite off of a gummy to help you gently drift through the afternoon. Yet, as you continue to consume cannabis as the day passes, the effect becomes less noticeable.

More often than not, people may think they need to go on a tolerance break when all they need to do is limit their window of consumption. By designating a specific time of the day for consuming cannabis, you give your body the rest of the day to "take a break," thus making the effects of the products you enjoy more prominent.

It can be tempting to partake throughout the day when the toils and worries of daily life come creeping in. But if you pick a specific time of day when you partake and then "cut off" after a certain period, you may eventually notice that you'll get better recurring sessions. Then, going back to the first tip in this blog post, you should change this timeframe periodically.

Final Thoughts

For many of us, cannabis is a way to tune out the daily noise, tune into ourselves, and reclaim a bit of our day. But naturally, the effect can wear off if you find yourself in a loop with the same cannabinoids and routines.

We hope the tips in this blog helped you regain the fascination, awe, and serenity this remarkable plant offers or even uncover new realms of feeling. But until next time, happy exploring and mind your mind.
