What is Live Rosin?

Live rosin is a form of cannabis concentrate made using a solventless extraction method. Essentially, this opaque yellow or even golden sap is obtained by applying enormous amounts of pressure to flower, hash, or bubble hash.

Respectively, the main types of rosin include flower rosin and hash rosin. However, rosin squeezed from bubble hash made with fresh, uncured hemp plants is called live rosin.

How Strong is Live Rosin?

The strength of live rosin depends on the source of the live rosin and what one considers to be “strong.” For any cannabis concentrate, the THC percentage is inherently higher when extracted from marijuana. However, live rosin from a hemp plant can legally contain no more than 0.3% of Delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis, and therefore will not have a high concentration. But potency is hardly the reason cannabis connoisseurs esteem live rosin.

The live rosin extraction process ensures the preservation of the live terpene profile of the plant. Terpenes are important not only for their aromatic properties but also because they can have complementary, synergistic effects when paired with Delta-9 THC from hemp.

In fact, the distinct experiential effects of Indica-forward and Sativa-forward cannabis strains are mostly due to these fragrant compounds. There’s still some debate whether Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica are two separate species or one, but what is known is that they both have drastically different terpene profiles.

Generally, cannabis enthusiasts prefer Sativa for the daytime, while Indica is viewed more as ideal for relaxing at night. Of course, cannabinoids, terpenes, and thus the effects of an Indica, Sativa, or Hybrid strain will vary from person to person.

Are Delta-9 THC and Live Rosin Legal?

According to the 2018 Farm Bill, live rosin from hemp is legal on a federal basis as long as it complies with the 0.3% Delta-9 THC concentration limit. And Delta-9 THC products themselves are also legal as long as the Delta-9 THC is derived from a hemp plant, and the amount of Delta-9 THC does not exceed 0.3% of that product's dry weight.

What's the difference between hemp and marijuana, you ask? This important legislation defined hemp as cannabis with- you guessed it- a 0.3% concentration of Delta-9 THC. Therefore, even in states where marijuana is prohibited, you can still enjoy the aromatic and synergistic effects of this premium concentrate- just from hemp instead.

That being said, finding hemp-derived live rosin products for sale might be difficult, but not impossible. You may find live rosin extracts and live rosin-infused products sold at a hemp dispensary near you, or (thanks to their federal legality) purchase live rosin-infused products online with a credit card.

Hometown Hero's site offers free, priority shipping on all orders so you can have a variety of live rosin-infused Delta-9 THC products delivered to your door conveniently and legally. Whether you're looking for a gummy infused with live rosin from a classic cannabis strain or an indica, sativa, or hybrid taffy, our collection of Delta-9 Live Rosin products is sure to have something to suit your needs and preferences.

What is the Difference Between Live Rosin and Rosin?

There are three main families of rosin. There is flower rosin, hash rosin, and live rosin. The main difference between live rosin and other forms of rosin is that live rosin uses fresh, uncured hemp as its “base.” Flower rosin uses cured CBD flower, and the hash used in hemp-derived hash rosin is made with CBD flower as well. The live rosin comes from bubble hash.

However, to make bubble hash for live rosin, only freshly harvested hemp plants can be used. The main difference this offers is the preserved live terpene profiles which means that products such as our live rosin Delta-9 gummies (the Delta-9 is from hemp, below 0.3%) come in indica and sativa profiles.

Why is Live Rosin So Expensive?

The price of live rosin comes down to the extensive manufacturing process. First, you need to get fresh hemp, so in this sense, time is of the essence. Then, with a filtration process involving ice and water, hemp is made into bubble hash. Finally, the bubble hash needs to be pressed with a specialized device to extract live rosin. In the cannabis world, there are top-shelf products, and live rosin is a level above that. The manufacturing process is why the live rosin price tends to be higher than standard hemp-derived Delta-9 products.

Why is Live Rosin Better?

Many consider live rosin to be better than other extracts because of the live terpene profile this concentrate offers. Live rosin is particularly favored as an infusion in edibles. However, live resin is better for vapes and inhalables due to its optimal viscosity which lends to a smoother smoking experience.

How Long Does Live Rosin Stay in Your System?

Unfortunately, there is no definite answer to this question. Live rosin contains a full spectrum range of cannabinoids derived from hemp. If you are curious about how long live rosin stays in your system because you have a drug test coming up, it is best to avoid taking live rosin or any hemp-derived products.
