If you are reading this, then chances are that you are a fan of hemp, but have you heard of the latest THC cannabis product making waves in the industry? Delta 8 THC is one of the latest and greatest discoveries to come out of modern cannabis research and will have a serious future in multiple fields.
What is Delta 8 THC?
The technical name for THC (you know, the thing that intoxicates you when you consume certain variations of cannabis) is Tetrahydrocannabinol. The Tetrahydrocannabinol found in a cannabinoid like weed is Delta 9 THC. Still, due to its highly psychoactive nature, it remains illegal in most states nationwide. While small amounts of that cannabinoid can be found in full-spectrum CBD, the percentage must stay under a .3% threshold to remain legal. Enter Delta 8 THC.
While Delta 8 THC may share "THC" with its legally questionable counterpart Delta 9, it is an entirely different chemical that creates a wholly unique set of effects along with less potency. Though Delta 8 is less abundantly found in cannabis plants than delta 9 THC, selective breeding and molecular isolation are used to extract this unique concentration.
What are the effects of Delta 8?
A common complaint when users try CBD for the first time is that they feel little to no effect from the consumption, especially compared to Delta 9 THC (or weed). We have to warn you; Delta 8 is by no means CBD. Though its effects might be familiar to Delta 9, you can expect less headiness and a milder psychoactive sensation when consuming Delta 8, making it more friendly to the average person.
Although every person is different, most of our customers describe Delta 8 as an uplifting feeling with a relaxing body sensation and a sense of wellbeing. We strongly recommend assessing your personal ability to handle Delta 8 THC by consuming small samples first to get a general feeling for the cannabinoid before consuming large quantities.

What are the benefits of Delta 8?
Unfortunately, we are not at liberty to discuss the potential benefits that have been found from Delta 8 consumption. We encourage you to do your own research as even the National Cancer Institute Drug Dictionary recognizes that delta-8-THC has multiple promising medical effects. We also recommend you read Trulieve’s excellent piece on Delta 8.

Review from John P. about our Blueberry Delta 8 Gummies:
GREAT - SECOND ORDER
First let me start by stating that my wife and I are both over 70 years old. We ordered our first jar (after reading about Hometown Hero on Yahoo.Com and
later the New York Times article.) Order arrived very quickly and was very well packaged. We each ate one and a couple hours later we were feeling it. We absolutely loved it. We can't say enough good things about Hometown Hero staff as well as their product. We just ordered another jar, and it also came very quickly and again packaged very well. You can count us as loyal customers and will continue to order ONLY from Hometown Hero. Thank you.
Review from Melody S. on our Delta 8 Gummies Flavor Pack:

Science of Delta 8
The National Cancer Institute Defines Delta 8 as:
An analog of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) with antiemetic, anxiolytic, appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties. Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-8-THC) binds to the cannabinoid G-protein coupled receptor CB1, located in the central nervous system; CB1 receptor activation inhibits adenyl cyclase, increases mitogen-activated protein kinase activities, modulates several potassium channel conductances, and inhibits N- and P/Q-type Ca2+ channels. This agent exhibits a lower psychotropic potency than delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-THC), the primary form of THC found in cannabis.
For those of you without a master’s in chemistry, what that means is that Delta 8 THC is only a few atomic bonds different than that of Delta 9 THC. While this might seem like a small deviation, it makes a world of difference in the way that it interacts with the body.
In 1974, a group of researchers tested a trio of different cannabinoids (Delta 9 THC, Delta 8 THC, and CBD) on mice to prove that THC did harm the immune system in mammals, with shocking results that we encourage you to take a look at. All research on Delta 8 is still very new and not definitive as science further explores this compound.
With cannabis regulations changing nationwide, on what seems like weekly bases, more doors are opening for more in-depth research into all sorts of cannabis variations. Many studies point to cannabis being a game-changer for the whole medical industry, but time will tell as we continue to increase our knowledge of this miracle plant.
