What are the most common questions we get asked at Hometown Hero? What exactly is a hemp-derived cannabinoid? And what's our mission of supporting veterans and providing access to cannabis?
Learn all this and more as Hometown Hero CEO and Co-founder Lukas Gilkey discusses these topics with Customer Experience Manager Jacob Charles in the video below:
It's important to note that we do not make medicinal products (see FDA disclaimer). We highly recommend that you consult your trusted physician if you are dealing with medical issues and before you try hemp-derived cannabinoids.
While there isn't much research done on our products and hemp-derived cannabinoids in general, there are interesting findings you can check about THC regarding daily stress and PTSD.
However, if you are just skimming this article and are curious why many people are interested in our products, we highly recommend watching the video above.
How Are Our Products Legal?
Simply put, our products are legal because they are derived from hemp. What is hemp?
"Hemp" refers to cannabis that contains a maximum concentration of 0.3% Delta-9 THC on a dry-weight basis. The derived cannabinoids from hemp are legally accepted at the federal level and in most states.
"Marijuana" is cannabis with a 0.3% or higher concentration of Delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis.
Unlike marijuana, hemp is federally legal, which allows you to have such products delivered to your state. Although initially, most states defined "hemp" within the boundaries of the 2018 Farm Bill, some states have restricted which hemp products you can or cannot purchase.
Changing the World with Cannabis
Since our founding, we've been dedicated to supporting veterans in need. We do this in part by donating a portion of proceeds from every sale to various nonprofit organizations, including the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Operation Finally Home, and Sacred Warrior Community.
But our mission also encompasses making full-panel lab-tested cannabis products accessible to a broader range of people 21 and older. It's because of hemp-derived cannabinoids that many people in restrictive states can now access and experience what this plant can bring to their lives firsthand.
And it's because of this that we've fought for access to hemp-derived cannabinoids in the past, and why we continue to fight to this day.
