During a camping trip or hike, the raw earth surrounds you, with the bird singing in your ear like a simple, “Hello.”

But after a while, the hike can start to drag. What could you do to make things a little more exciting? Homemade hemp granola bars.

Pass them around, or keep them to yourself, whatever you decide to do, one thing’s for sure—these hemp bars won’t last for long.

However, if you’re looking for a hemp-infused edible to compliment other foods, we got you covered.

Granola vs. Granola Bars

Granola and granola bars are essentially the same thing, except granola is crumbly, whereas granola bars are held together with a binding agent.

With this in mind, we decided to give you two recipes. Each will offer a different taste, texture, and overall experience.

With hemp granola, the opportunities are endless. You can grab it by the handful, use it as a topping for yogurt, overnight oats, and smoothie bowls.

While granola has its advantages, hemp bars are your best bet if you want something that is shareable, taken on the go, and easier to measure out.

Lastly, before making these recipes, make sure you have pre-made hemp butter. Don’t have any? Here is the recipe we use to make CBD butter.

Our Sweet and Crunchy Hemp Granola Recipe

This hemp granola recipe will leave you reaching for more until you have to force yourself to stop. Loaded with oats, seeds, and lightly sweetened with maple syrup, you will most certainly experience the taste of a quality hemp-infused treat.

Before we begin, it's time that we gather all of the ingredients. The recipe will include:

  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

  • ½ cup flax seeds

  • ⅓ cup of chopped raw pecans

  • ⅓ cup chia seeds

  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

  • 6 tablespoons CBD butter

  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut shavings

  • ⅓ of cup maple syrup

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C ). Taking a 9 X 12 baking sheet, line it with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, flaxseed, pecans, coconut, chia seeds, and cinnamon, and set aside.

  3. In a small saucepan with the heat set low, melt the CBD butter. Then mix in the maple syrup, honey, and vanilla. Let simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Slowly pour the mixture over the dry ingredients, and stir together.

  5. Transfer the mixture onto the baking sheet and spread evenly.

  6. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, and stir the mix. Place it back in the oven, bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  7. After removing it from the oven, set it aside and cool.

The Best Hemp Granola Bars

Hemp plus granola is a combination that you have been missing out on. But let’s be honest with each other—granola bars are easier to share, making it the ideal snack for a large group.

With a robust nutty flavor paired with the richness of chocolate, you will feel as though you have gone to heaven before the effects even start to kick in. If this sounds like an edible you need your life, here are the list of ingredients you need for this recipe:

  • 1 cup of milk chocolate chips

  • 3 cups rolled oats

  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts

  • ½ cup chopped almonds

  • 6 tablespoons CBD butter

  • ¼ cup honey

  • ¼ cup maple syrup

  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C ). Taking a 9 X 12 baking sheet, line it with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the oats, nuts, and chocolate, placing it to the side.

  3. In a medium saucepan on low heat, combine hemp butter, maple syrup, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.

  4. Remove from heat and place on top of the oat mix. Fold everything together until everything is evenly coated in liquid.

  5. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

  6. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 2 hours. Once cooled, cut them into squares, and enjoy!

NOTE: For storage of both recipes, we recommend placing it in an airtight container. The granola has a shelf life of 3 weeks in the refrigerator, and 6 months in the freezer.

Takeaway

What is hemp granola going to do for you? It can turn any dull morning into a bright one—even on a Monday. But if you need to make a treat to share with a crowd, these hemp bars will impress everyone. Just don’t be surprised when your friends start begging you for the recipe.
