So you have decided to start using CBD, but are struggling to figure out how you want to take it, as there are multiple different cannabinoids to choose from, the 3 most common of course being Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Isolate. In this blog, I’m going to break down the differences to help make your selection a little easier.
First off, we have Full-Spectrum CBD. If you choose a full-spectrum, that means it contains all phytochemicals that are naturally found in the plant including cannabinoids, terpenes, essential oils and a low amount of THC content (below .3% THC to be exact!) Although the THC content is near 0 and Full-Spectrum CBD does not cause a non-psychoactive response (meaning it doesn’t intoxicate you), consuming high doses of this CBD daily can get you a false positive on a drug test.
Next, we have Broad Spectrum CBD, which contains everything Full-Spectrum does and all other compounds found within the plant, except for THC which has been completely removed during the initial extraction. To put it simply, broad-spectrum is a mixture of full-spectrum and isolate (we will get to that later) as it contains the entire cannabinoid spectrum (except for THC of course).
Finally, we have CBD isolate, the purest form of the compound as it is pulled from its natural environment and then has all other ingredients removed. In summary, none of these products are necessarily better than the other, as they all impact the body in a specific way. It is really up to the individual to decide what they want, and that usually includes a bit of trial-and-error. Check out our variety of CBD products here!
